Gay Camberwell

This site has had several incarnations in the last few years but we hope that this one is here to stay. Love Walk Cafe is a welcoming, comfortable, and pretty little cafe with eclectic, thoughtful decor, cafe tables, little comfy booths, and friendly staff who are clearly proud of their establishment. On entering the cafe, we are met by a counter of tasty-looking cakes and fresh pastries, and a blackboard of good coffee and tea options. They make freshly squeezed orange juice and fresh fruit smoothies to your own design, before your eyes. Before you even sit down, there's a good feeling about Love Walk Cafe. And so to the menu: a large range of breakfast options, both standard and unusual. We had the scrambled eggs on toast, and the eggs florentine. Both were very nicely done, and reasonably priced. The menu also had full cooked breakfasts (meat and veggie, and several options for each), making it probably Camberwell's premier breakfast eaterie at the moment. The accompanying smoothies were delicious, though it would have been nice to have them served in glasses rather than plastic cups. Fortunately we were luckier with the delicious orange juice in tall glasses, which accompanied lunch - ciabatta with hummous, rocket, mozarella... baguette with brie and caramelised onion. Delicous and nicely made and served, though it was a shame they'd run out of pesto for the former (or in fact since this was their first day, hadn't bought it yet). Also on the menu for lunch or dinner was jacket potatoes, salads and more. They pressed free coffee and tea upon us in a very friendly manner, and how could we refuse. This is a lovely, cosy spot to relax with the papers and breakfast on a Sunday morning, to meet up for lunch, for afternoon tea, for a post-work coffee and cake... It's open 7am-7pm on weekdays and 8am-7pm on weekends, which is really quite impressive. Camberwell needed a place like this. Enjoy!
